I haven't posted on this blog is quite some time. I don't even want to look at the last date because, quite frankly, I'm a little ashamed. I started this blog to share my love of crafting with whomever should happen along my blog and with my family members. I have never stopped crafting, just stopped sharing.
My husband, on several occasions, has said, "I wish you would find a way to make money doing this stuff. You seem to enjoy it so much so, Why not?" Well, I am not in it for the money; I'm in it for the enjoyment.
Although I have not physically cut a piece of paper in quite some time, I have been spending a lot of time on Make the Cut! For those of you who do not know, Make the Cut (MTC) is a licensed program developed by Andy Heinlein and his family in Muskego, WI. MTC allows you to easily cut virtually any shape you can imagine (including TrueType/OTF Fonts, SVGs and PDFs)
using your personal cutting machine. The possibilities are ENDLESS!
The best part about MTC is it's customer service. Andy and his family and faithful employees have devoted their lives, it seems, to make this program as user friendly as possible. If there is something that you don't understand how to do, you can go on their forum and ask a question. A lot of the time, Andy, himself, will answer the question. If not, there are plenty of other users that are more than willing to share their expertise. If that wasn't enough, Andy is always adding new and innovative was to use this software. Just when I think it is even better, he makes it even better! Another plus, all upgrades are absolutely FREE!
I know, I know, I keep saying more and more but this program is beyond amazing and I would like to share it with you! That being said, Andy also offers free live webinars! What?! Yep, that's right, about twice a month, like clock-work, Andy and his team provide webinars to answer any questions posed to him or to show new and different ways to do ANYTHING!
Did I say that already, MTC can scan, import, draw and or cut ANYTHING (provided it's not copyrighted) with your personal cutting machine.
Okay, now for my point. I am so obsessed with the endless possibilities that I have been spending a lot of time building my library. I have designed numerous files that I am willing to share with each and every one of you! If this turns out to be a full time thing, which my hubby is hoping, I might even start a mini-business. Wouldn't that be a dream? I have even seen it happen! One of the best examples of this is Scrappy Dew Creations. Scrappy Dew creates and sells a lot of images to cut just not on MTC but other programs as well. You should definitely check them out!
I noticed, on one of the more recent questions posed on the forum, that someone was looking for a pentagon pattern to be cut and or drawn on their paper so that they can Tangle inside of each pentagon. Tangling is a new, or at least new to me, way to "doodle" inside of a desirable shape with different patterns. There are books upon books on this people!
Any way, I have created a file that will not only help her to do so but I have created it for you to use to your hearts content. The file provided, I am including as a MTC file. You can download MTC free to play with, you will just not be able to cut without it putting a diagonal cut through your image. The best place to read about and download the newest version of MTC is HERE.
Finally...my file: Honeycomb for Tangling by AJF .
Please leave comments and if you can, please share any pics with me! I'd love to see your creations!
